[When Leonard comes in he stops in the doorway for a moment, just to look around and let his expression speak for himself. He had noted the mess yesterday and obviously it was still a mess. Whatever.
He pushed past the punchbag and stopped by the bed, handing Mick a bottle of water and a handful of pills. Nothing trippy, just aspirin and whatever else it'd take to make him feel better.]
[Bad friend. Bad, bad friend. Mick groans and holds his hand out, taking the items. He's lying awkwardly on the bed, the way around and half way off, still in yesterdays clothes. He knocks back the pills, takes a long drink of water and then drops the bottle lazily on the floor.
Clearly he does this with everything given 90% of his stuff is on the floor at this point. He yanks the bed cover over him again and closes his eyes.] Come back with food.
[Leonard approaches and then props a foot up on the bed, since clearly there was no need to worry about clean sheets here. Damn. He bent down and put a cupcake down in front of Mick's face, just waiting for him to open his eyes.]
[Oh. Food. Mick pulls the covers back and yeah, he's up for that. One pathetic cupcake but it's still cake. He sits up slowly and takes the cake, pulling the wrapper down.]
I love the kitchen in this place. Everything is free. Handy. [He does pull a face though.] But boring.
[He takes a massive bite from his cake and chews happily.]
The kitchen I could live with. Everything else being free is annoying.
[Not a lot of reason to steal anything in a place where he could get a diamond necklace just by wishing really hard. Leonard has one hand on his knee, the other playing with the fabric of his shirt.]
[Mick made another grunting noise and sort of hummed gently as he ate away at his cake. He was more interested in that but words but those who knew Mick could tend to translate humming.
[It was angrily yelled around a mouthful of cupcake but the point was made, plain and clear. He was not happy. That kid had a boyfriend? How? She was damn tiny and young, she shou;dn't b fucking dating. Guys were scumbags.
[Just as bad! If not worse. Mick sulks and shoves a mouthful of cupcake into his mouth again, chewing with a certain amount of annoyance. He hates when the girls in his life date.]
They're teenagers. Just look at what you were dating back then.
[He snorts and watches Mick chew like the cupcake has personally offended him, deciding to brighten his day by putting a hand into his pocket and producing another cupcake. Hey, he knows who he's catering to here.]
I was dating pretty good, you were the one always bitching about it.
[Ah, the ongoing saga of Mick's first steady girlfriend. Poor Rhonda, she was such a nice girl, despite what Leonard might claim otherwise. Mick's eyes widened a little and he swipes the cupcake, making a small amused noise.
Good. Good friend.]
Nah but I'll pretend. He better be able to take care of her.
[With a shrug Leonard climbs onto the bed completely, over Mick on the other side of the bed, so he can stretch out next to him. He drapes one leg across his thigh and looks up at the ceiling, not close enough to touch Mick, but close enough to feel his warmth. Familiar.]
[Like with Lisa. Mick arguable took it the hardest when she grew up. Mostly out of fear of horny teenage boys. Mick settles himself back so he's leaning nearby, comfortable and slightly less headachey as he finishes off his second cupcake.]
She's a good kid. [There's a pause.] I made her cry.
[Leonard rolls to the side, propping his elbow up on the bed and leaning his head against his hand. He looks at Mick, leaving a lot of things unsaid. What else is new?]
She thinks she's got a lot in common with you. Us.
Nah, she's a lot smart than me and a lot less of a trainwreck. If she was like me, I'd be more concerned.
[Mick did find her kind of endearing. She had a Lisa type vibe he thought was kind of cute, like her early stages before she'd properly rebelled. Back when the rebel thing was cute.]
I know, but she's young. She relates everything and everyone to herself.
[Leonard shrugs, not going down the Lisa path more than necessary. Lisa before the awful relationships and drugs and everything else she's done for a while. Though she's come back around. His sister will be fine, even without him.

I talked to Maya.

This one was along the lines of do go on]
no subject
[He really hadn't meant for Maya to be the one to tell Mick. But then, not as if there could have been a good way for him to find out.]
Also she has a boyfriend now.

He knew, he was one of them!]
no subject
Relax. She ain't just a kid any more, kinda bound to happen. Least I met the boy she's dating and he's a blusher. Cute. Could be worse.
[At least Maya has better taste than Lisa, but that comment went unsaid. He doesn't really want to bring up Lisa. Enough pain between them as is.]
She's worried about hurting him.

[Which is why Leonard refrains from mentioning the times that he made her cry, especially since he doubts that really compares.]
What did you do?
[He can guess, but they're communicating. So here he is, listening.]
no subject
[She seemed like a scrappy little think.]
Burnt a lot of shit. You probably saw. You got like a sixth sense for that kind of shit.
no subject
[And, yes, he does have a sixth sense for it.]
You don't wanna lose control around a kid like that, Mick. Be careful.
no subject
[Obviously. He did seem, in general, more at ease and calmer than he'd been in a long time. There was almost like a weight lifted from him.]
She keeps trying to empathise with me in this weird way. It's ... strange.

If it scared her, she understands pretty well.
