It wasn't much longer before Leonard jumped down in front of Mick, immediately stepping up to him. He slid both hands into Mick's back pockets, selflessly warming him up as he leaned their foreheads together. "Want my jacket?" It was a serious offer, just one he also knew was very unlikely to get accepted. "We can warm up in the diner around the corner before heading home."
"Nah, I don't want your jacket." Mick muttered in a petulant fashion, even though he was trembling and his teeth kept chattering. He never did like the cold and it always sort of exaggerated in his head. He knew he was over-reacting but his brain didn't seem to take note. Instead, he froze his ass off. He pulled away from Leonard and started to move towards the car. "I want pie and coffee, let's get going. I'm so done with the outside."
Leonard let out a sigh, but it was only a quiet one. He wanted to have a few moments with his boyfriend with the snow falling, right after a successful job, because he knew that once inside, there wasn't really a chance for them to stand close. Moments like this made it all very frustrating. Either way, he put his hands in his pockets and jogged a few steps to catch up to Mick, checking the wallet he had in his pocket. "My treat." Seemed as if he had enough money.
He supposed walking there would be easier than driving given how few parking spots there were outside the place so he decided to just button up and try to deal with the cold. The snow was blowing at them and the road they were on was pretty much deserted. No shock there, there was no business or housing, it was an industrial area. Hence the job. Since they were alone and far away from anyone they knew, Mick took a moment to look around before he slipped his hand into Leonard's pocket and held his hand. He didn't say anything and his face was a tinge redder but he wanted to hold his damn boyfriends hand once in a while and his hand was cold.
He said nothing, he was a little embarrassed and it wasn't easy. He just stubbornly kept moving.
"We need to get you some gloves." Leonard wrapped his hand tightly around Mick's, running his thumb along its back and hoping that he could warm him up a little. He knew Mick was just being a baby, it wasn't that cold, at least in his perception, but that didn't change that he wanted him to be comfortable. They still had some way to go, but he hoped a donut or two might make up for it. "This will be a good score. I promise. You wanted some money, right?"
"I need some money, yeah." Mick had to pay the rest of the rent this month because his dad bet it all away and he was not being kicked out of another house. Plus he wanted to buy himself some more movies to watch with Leonard and maybe a decent TV. His current one was just embarrassing, it still had a massive back and everything. "I'm with you, I'll do the score, even if it's cold as fuck. I just ... I don't like the cold. I like heat." He much preferred doing jobs in the summer.
"I'll get you money. You know how it is, I'll always get you what you need." Be it pudding or anything else. These days even more so. Not that they had had the chance to get very far in that area so far, even opportunities to make out were few and far between. One day this would be so much easier. "I like the cold." It was true. In this, as with many things, they were contrary. However... "I don't like you cold."
"I hate the cold. It's stupid. Stupid cold." Mick growled as he kicked some snow walking by in an incredibly childish gesture but he wasn't overly fond of the snow. He knew Leonard liked it cold because he always whined during the summer, it wasn't a shock that he was a winter person. Mick supposed at least he always had a nice coat, made his body warm so the closer he got, the warmer he was. "As long as we don't slip on the ice tonight, the job should be fine."
"It will be fine. And after the job is done, we'll drive out to that spot on the hill and make out in my car, if the heating works at the time." What? He tended to have a bit of a high after a successful heist. "Pulling the job is the least of the issue, the real trick will be selling without giving anything away to my old man, but I figured that one out too. We'll be set for a while." Not that it'd keep him from planning more.
"Nice, I like it. This time, let's park deep into the shaded area. I'm like 70% certain some perv was looking through the glass last time." It was a small area, there was a lot of curious people, it happened. Mick smiled a little, even if he was cold and frustrated, he was pretty happy that he could just be with Leonard. He made him happy, it was as simple as that. "We'll have to sell it as my score, not yours. Then he has no cut, no dibs and no part in it. We'll use my name. I know Rory has less sway than Snart but it's time to get it some sway."
"Sure. I can tell you where to sell. That's the problem, I go anywhere and they'll know it's me, one look at the baby blues. It's cause Lewis can't count." It really was as simple as that. Leonard had been better at his father at maths since he was small, so he'd taken him along. At least Lewis was decent at negotiating a price, so Leonard still got to learn something. "The world's so full of pervs. I'll never get it. Everyone hating on the gays and I keep meeting those perverted old assholes."
"I'll handle it until he's out of the way. Best way to do it. My name ain't worth shit, it's got no rep. I'm the perfect candidate for this." All the Rorys were known for was drunk and disorderly behaviour and a bad rep with the bookies. As long as he avoided them, he shoulder be okay. As they got closer to the town, Mick pulled his hand away. He didn't want to but they kind of had to. "I dunno man. It's weird. I don't get it. You see gays on TV and stuff, everyone is supposed to be all tolerate and everything but when faced with a real one, they get all weird about it."
"Supposedly it'd be easier if we ran with a different crowd. I don't know. I'm telling you, Mick, we're gonna run this down one day and then people can just deal or get beat." Leonard liked plans like that. On hold until they were a bit older, until somehow Lewis wasn't a factor any more, but definitely to be implemented. "I ain't ashamed of being with you. I'm damn lucky."
"Ditto. I just don't wanna get my ass kicked." Or upset his parents and make himself a social outcast. The last kid he knew who got outed got his ass beat down so hard, there was blood left behind on the pavement. He thought about that a lot these days, he didn't want that to be him. Or Leonard. He was going to protect them both, make sure they survived this stupid town. "When this city is ours, we better get discounts on food." Mick eyed the diner from a distance, already feeling excited. He loved the pie here.
"We'll get all the discounts you want, partner. I promise." And he never had to exaggerate when it came to promises like that. If life had screwed him over, it had only made him more motivated to force it to give him the most anyway. They approached the door and Leonard lowered his voice. "I've been meaning to tell you. I think of you when I jerk off too." That said he walked inside, because he was also the worst person.
"... The fuck, Snart!" No, that wasn't cool. He couldn't just do that like this before he walked into a diner full of people. Mick huffed and gave Leonard a small shove from behind, storming ahead to a table and flopping down. He crossed his arms and glared at Leonard, try not to think about him, with his hands down his pants, slowly jacking off and -- fuck. God damn him. "You're the worst."
Leonard let out a chuckle as he let himself fall onto the bench opposite of Mick, smiling as he leaned back, one leg pulled up and a hand not so accidentally resting on his thigh just below the knee. "It felt like a good moment to share." When Mick couldn't touch him or even talk about it. He really was the worst. "I want a cherry pie. You?"
"You did it to be a dick." Mick crossed his arms and huffed a little but hell, he couldn't stay too mad. The offer of pie was there so he soon nodded his head and fiddled around in his pocket. "Cherry works just fine for me." He pulled his lighter one and slid along a little so he was lounging against the corner of the bench they picked. He didn't like lighters as much as he liked matches but the lighter was a nice breath of fresh air after all that cold. "Beautiful."
Of course, he was talking to the fire, not Leonard.
"Mick. I don't want to get kicked out." Great, replaced by some fire again. Leonard rolled his eyes and ordered coffee and pie for them from the waitress, a sullen look on his face when he returned to Mick and his one true love. "I'll start staring at ice cubes like they can fulfil me, see how you feel."
"They know I don't smoke, they ain't gonna kick me out." Mick had been told about it before but it was a fight the waitresses knew they wouldn't win. He set the lighter down on the table and watched the flame for a few moments, wondering what would happen if he just set the napkins alight. Fortunately, he stopped himself and flipped the lid over, going for his pie instead. "You're jealous of the flame? Come on, Snart, that's sad."
